The Game is reflecting on the somewhat toxic dating practices from his 20s and 30s.
In a vulnerable moment during Kirk Franklin’s “Den of Kings” conversation, The Game shared how his approach to women in the past lacked real emotional connection. Sitting down with Snoop Dogg, Matt Barnes, Deon Cole, and Big Boy, the rapper admitted that what once felt like casual encounters now weigh heavily on his conscience.
“Sometimes, like when I was in my 20s and my 30s, it was just an exchange,” he said. “It was, ‘Hey, hey, I’m giving you this. We having our moment, and I’m going to get back to my life. You get back to yours.’ No emotions ’cause you young. Everybody got their whole life ahead of them.”
But turning 40 shifted things. “You start feeling like you womanizing and I’m taking emotions home with me, or she’s taking emotions out the door with her,” he added.
The Game, now 45, admitted he struggles to sleep after these encounters, especially with women who were emotionally invested. “I had no pure intentions for this person, and this person is also late 30s or mid-30s, and they got a life.”
Reflecting further, he acknowledged that once trauma and intimacy come into play, the stakes are different. “You know for sure that they are invested in you even a little bit, and you know you ain’t talking to this person after tomorrow, man…”
It’s a raw confession from someone who admits his past actions are finally catching up with his present.
