For the first time in more than 20 years, the Las Vegas Aces became the first team in WNBA history to win back-to-back championships. It was a tough battle that was full of injuries and doubters rooting against them. When the buzzer sounded and the score showed 70-69 in Game 4 of the Finals, the Aces were overcome with emotions. Defeating a New York Liberty team that hometown fans expected to push this series to a Game 5.
One loss is what the ladies saw throughout the WNBA playoffs, forever cementing themselves in history. Once the tears were gone, it was time to party and the ladies had one of the more memorable press conferences to date. They could barely contain their composure as they were ready to celebrate.
WNBA Finals MVP A’ja Wilson, Head Coach Becky Hammond, and Alysha Clark came in to answer questions in the post-game press conference with Champagne in all of their hands. During the press conference, the rest of the Aces team crashed the presser led by Kelsey Plum with a speaker playing “Knuck If You Buck.”
Saying the presser was lit is an understatement. For the rest of the press conference, it was like the ladies on stage were in church and the women kept encouraging them to talk that talk, having silenced their doubters. Alysha Clark posed the question that had been on the minds of WNBA fans since the start of the playoffs.
“Who voted A’ja 4th place for MVP?” The team responded asking the same question pointing around the room and trying to see if someone would reveal the culprit. With good reason, Wilson had one of the best defensive seasons in WNBA history. Finishing the game with 24 points, 16 rebounds, and a game-sealing stop on the defensive end.

The South Carolina Alum was dominant and she showed it on both ends of the floor. Her College coach and WNBA Champion, Dawn Staley, was turnt up when A’ja pushed the Aces’ lead to six with less than a minute to go.

One of the most entertaining female teams to date, and we know the parade when it is scheduled in Vegas will be lit. Coach Hammond also got in on the fun, showing her tootsie roll.
