Tiffany Haddish is flexing her acting chops, transitioning from comedy into the sci-fi realm. Deadline reports that she is in final talks to star in the big-screen adaptation of M.T. Anderson’s novel Landscape with Invisible Hand.
In Landscape with Invisible Hand, an alien species known as the Vuvv have invaded Earth. After the Vuvv’s advanced technology replaces Earth’s job market, a teenager and his girlfriend develop a creative way to make money— broadcast their dating life to the aliens, who are fascinated with all things traditional Earth. Unfortunately, things go badly when the two teens start to hate each other and can’t break up without bankrupting their families.
Rights to the novel were acquired by Plan B and Annapurna in 2017. The film will be distributed through MGM. Plan B and Annapurna are producing the movie.
