“Tiger King” Filmmakers Are Developing A New Project Based on Siegfried & Roy’s Infamous 2003 Tiger Attack

The makers of Tiger King are working on a new project based on famous Las Vegas duo Siegfried & Roy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new project will focus on the 2003 attack when Roy was mauled on stage by a white tiger during a show. The accident left Roy partially paralyzed and ended the pair’s run.

The Siegfried & Roy project will be considered a “follow up episode” under the Tiger King name for Netflix.

The news comes as Roy died Friday from coronavirus complications. He was 75.

“Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend,” Siegfried Fischbacher said in a statement. “From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried.”

Perhaps the new Netflix show will help keep Roy’s memory alive.
