Patriots fans will be happy to know that quarterback Tom Brady has just signed a 2-year contract extension with the team, which will keep him in New England through 2019. Brady’s contract extension will be added onto the 3-year-deal that he signed back in 2015, which gave him a base salary of $8 million in 2015, $9 million in 2016, and $10 million in 2017 after restructuring. Details about how much his contract extension is worth have not been released yet.
Though Brady will turn 39 this year, he showed this past season that age is not affecting his game just yet. He passed for 4,770 yards and 36 touchdowns during the 2015 season and led his team to the AFC Championship game.
Brady was quoted as saying that he wants to play in the NFL for 10 more years. As long as he maintains his current level of play, the Patriots have shown that they are willing to keep him around for as long as possible. With the contract extension set, it all but guarantees that Brady will spend the entirety of his career as a Patriot
