Streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video are coming through in a major way for Black audiences. By offering a wide range of Black films and sitcoms; audiences are revisiting some of their favorite shows and are falling in love all over again. From iconic films like Boomerang, Barbershop, Poetic Justice and Belly to fan favorite sitcoms like The Game, Moesha, Sister Sister and The Parkers. Social media has had a field day making posts in reaction to re-watching the shows. Tweets have ranged from a sense of nostalgia to evaluating characters from a more adult perspective. While today’s climate promotes a more tolerant, inclusive and less misogynistic tone, it’s been fun to relive classic television.
