Singer Tori Kelly is on the road to recovery after a frightening health scare with blood clots in her lungs and legs.
On Wednesday, her husband, overseas basketball player André Murillo shared a highly anticipated update on his Instagram to her anxious fans. Via his Story, the athlete wrote that Kelly was now conscious and slowly recuperating.
“Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger. Not fully out of the woods, but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers,” Murillo explained before thanking supporters for their unwavering thoughts and prayers.
This update is a welcome relief to those who love Kelly after she was hospitalized over the weekend in Los Angeles. The incident unfolded on Sunday as she had dinner with friends. The singer complained of an elevated heart rate before fainting. Her company quickly rushed her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. There, medical professionals worked to save her life after discovering blood clots throughout her legs and lungs. Reports said there was some concern that there may have been one near her heart and other vital organs.
Kelly’s latest album, “Tori,” is scheduled to debut on Friday, July 28th, though it’s unclear if the project will be pushed back pending her release from the hospital. As of now, there is nothing to suggest she will return home any time soon.
