Tory Lanez is denying that he is the one responsible for leaking information in the ongoing assault case with Megan Thee Stallion.
What was supposed to be a scheduling hearing turned out to be a list of concerns brought up by the prosecutors regarding “leaks of discovery.” Tory’s legal team maintained that they were not releasing unauthorized information.
Discovery is the process in which both sides exchange information leading up to trial. This allows both to know which evidence will be used in the courtroom. Meg’s attorneys believe these documents are being shared with others outside the case, perhaps even the media.
While he did not directly place blame on Meg for releasing the information, “Tory’s lawyer, Shawn Holly, did say the “Savage” rapper “upped the ante” by conducting an interview with Gayle King detailing the alleged shooting in July 2020. Tory declined an interview request from CBS, which makes sense considering he has a restraining order against him that prohibits him from speaking about the case.
Tory has asked for permission to speak on the alleged shooting and tell his side, though his requests have been denied. The trial is expected to begin on September 14th.
