At the star-studded Ebony Power 100 celebration, Baller Alert correspondent Ty Cole caught up with actor and filmmaker Tosin Morohunfola, who shared heartfelt thoughts about his new movie Finding Joy and the importance of honoring Black artistry.
Morohunfola, known for his powerful performances in projects like Run the World and The Chi, couldn’t hide his excitement as he reflected on what nights like this mean to him. “Celebrations like this do so much for my heart,” he said. “It’s not just about the cameras. It’s about being surrounded by iconic Black artists, creators, and fashion designers, realizing you’re part of a much bigger legacy.”
He went on to express gratitude for the sense of unity the Ebony 100 fosters each year. “I’m proud of my movie and can’t wait for people to see it, but I’m also honored to be part of this home. Ebony has been so welcoming,” he shared with genuine joy.
Finding Joy, which Morohunfola stars in and helped create, centers around love, healing, and rediscovering happiness in unexpected places. The film has already been receiving strong buzz, with critics calling it uplifting and timely.
As the night celebrated Black excellence across entertainment, culture, and business, Tosin’s message was clear: joy is found in community, connection, and continuing the legacy of those who came before.
