In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, former President Donald Trump has made some serious accusations against tech giant Google. Trump claimed that the company is deliberately manipulating search results to show negative news stories about him while highlighting only positive stories about Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump’s post reads: “It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris. This is an ILLEGAL ACTIVITY, and hopefully the Justice Department will criminally prosecute them for this blatant Interference of Elections. If not, and subject to the Laws of our Country, I will request their prosecution, at the maximum levels, when I win the Election, and become President of the United States!”
The former president didn’t provide any evidence to support his claims, but he’s known for criticizing big tech companies, alleging that they are biased against him and conservative voices. His statement also suggested that if the Justice Department doesn’t take action, he would personally push for prosecution if he wins the 2024 presidential election.
This isn’t the first time Trump has accused big tech companies of unfair practices. During his presidency, he often argued that platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Google were silencing conservative voices, leading to several executive orders aimed at reducing their influence.
Google has not yet responded to Trump’s latest allegations, but in the past, the company has denied similar claims, stating that their search algorithms are designed to provide users with relevant results without political bias.
