Ahead of his 100th day back in office, a majority of Americans have expressed disapproval of Donald Trump’s job performance, according to a recent NBC News Stay Tuned Poll.
The poll reveals that 55 percent of respondents disapprove of Trump’s handling of his first few months this term. This includes 42 percent who “strongly disapprove” and 13 percent who “somewhat disapprove.”
On the other hand, 45 percent of those surveyed approve of Trump’s performance, with 26 percent saying they “strongly approve” and 19 percent “somewhat approve.”
Trump is preparing for a rally in Michigan on Tuesday, where he intends to mark his first 100 days back in office. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt expressed enthusiasm about the event in a post on X, stating, “President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!”
Trump’s return to the White House has involved significant action on various issues, notably immigration and trade, which have provoked considerable backlash. The poll found that 51 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of immigration, while 49 percent approve. When it comes to trade and tariffs, 61 percent disapprove, and 60 percent are dissatisfied with his management of inflation and living costs.
The NBC News Stay Tuned Poll, conducted April 11-20, surveyed 19,682 U.S. adults with a margin of error of 2.2 percentage points.
