During a Friday press appearance outside the White House, Donald Trump was asked directly whether he’s considering a pardon or clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. His response? Non-committal at best.
“I haven’t thought about it,” Trump said, quickly adding, “I’m allowed to do it.”
When pressed a second time by reporters, Trump deflected with, “I don’t want to talk about that,” and shifted the focus to praising Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. Blanche reportedly met with Maxwell and her legal team earlier in the week at a federal courthouse in Tallahassee, Florida.

Trump, who has long denied any meaningful ties to Jeffrey Epstein, reiterated once again, “I never went to his island,” referring to Epstein’s private Caribbean estate infamously linked to his abuse network.
His vague remarks and refusal to give a firm answer on the pardon question have raised eyebrows, particularly given Maxwell’s high-profile conviction and the attention her case continues to generate.
While Trump maintains he hasn’t considered a pardon, his insistence that he “could” if he wanted to only adds fuel to ongoing speculation about how deeply figures in Epstein’s orbit could still be protected or politically shielded.
For now, Maxwell remains incarcerated, and the world watches for any future legal curveballs that might come her way—especially from Mar-a-Lago.
