Donald Trump is once again making headlines after his nasty response to the reported death of filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele.
Instead of sharing a traditional statement of condolence, Trump used the moment to revisit his long-standing issues with Reiner, drawing immediate attention across social media.
In a message posted online, Trump wrote, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”
The post spread quickly, with many questioning the tone and timing of the message. Some felt it shifted focus away from mourning and toward politics, while others viewed it as consistent with Trump’s long-used hateful rhetoric toward critics.
Reiner was widely known not only for his decades-long career in film and television but also for his outspoken political views, which frequently placed him at odds with Trump.
Reiner’s son has been arrested for the murders and is now being held on $4 million bail.
