Kylie Jenner has become the first star to have her own line of Bratz dolls this week. The collaboration showcases an assortment of Kylie-inspired figures, each sporting some of her most memorable looks. This includes the famed purple, ostrich-covered Versace gown worn by the cosmetics mogul at the 2019 Met Gala, with the lilac-colored wig to match. As the brand and Kylie fans praised the glamorous dolls, many couldn’t help but notice the dark skin tone used to construct them. The Jenner-Kardashian clan has long been accused of blackfishing, resulting from their notable dark tans. They’ve also been called out for appropriating Black culture on multiple occasions. Needless to say, Bratz using such a tanned hue has raised some eyebrows about the limited-edition collection.
Do people have a point, or are they overreacting? Check out some of the Twitter reactions below.
Kylie Jenner is a sicko lmaooo sis literally skimmed off the top of the entire Black girl aesthetic and is getting a BRATZ collection that’s not even based off her natural features pic.twitter.com/FJLr0vnujH
