Two more bodies have been found from Saturday’s fatal shooting at the Pinetree Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
Cobb County police confirmed Sunday night that the additional bodies were located in the back of a pickup truck thought to have been driven by the shooter. One victim was identified as the owner of the vehicle, Paul Pierson, while the other man has not yet been identified. Both suffered gunshot wounds.
According to FOX 5, the suspect drove his pickup onto the green of the golf course’s 10th hole, where professional golfer Gene Siller approached him. According to investigators, that’s when the suspect fatally shot Siller in the head.
John Lavender, a member of the golf course, detailed hearing the shocking confrontation.
“I was at the driving range, heard about the truck being on the course, so I went to see what was going on. All of a sudden, you hear five, six booms go off,” he explained to FOX 5.
PGA of America President Jim Richerson released a statement on Twitter, paying their respects to Siller, who leaves behind a wife and two children.
“We are truly heartbroken to hear about the senseless murder that took place yesterday at Pine Tree Country Club in Georgia that took the life of PGA member Gene Siller,” Richerson wrote.
