Two women in Newark have been arrested for hosting what now is called a super-spreader event at an illegal “makeshift bar” in New Jersey.
According to the authorities, 26-year-old Denisse Tinizaray and 28-year-old Katherine Tinizaray of Newark hosted more than 200 people over the weekend at a warehouse at 6 Libella Court. Reports say hundreds of people were seen drinking, eating, and illegally gambling. After a few calls, police responded to the scene at exactly midnight on Sunday.
Both of the women failed to provide a liquor license. Police charged them with maintaining illegal alcohol and illegal possession and sales of alcohol.
Three other people were also arrested on Saturday for illegally selling alcohol without a permit inside a hookah lounge that had more than 50 people in attendance. The location was 20 minutes north of Newark, NBC News reports.
