Tyler Perry is taking his many talents to Amazon Studios with a four-feature deal.

The lucrative partnership was announced on Monday, with Perry being given creative control to write, direct and produce four movies. Each will be released exclusively on Prime Video and streamed in over 240 countries internationally.

“I’m excited and grateful to start working with Amazon Studios to bring movies to Prime Video,” Perry said in a statement.

While the deal is impressive, Amazon is one of several streamers to tap Perry for his unique storytelling capabilities. Perry partnered with BET+ to create series such as The Oval, Bruh,  and Sistas. His last three feature films, A Jazzman’s Blues, A Madea Homecoming, and A Fall from Grace, were all released on Netflix, with the latter attracting over 26 million viewers within the first week.

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, praised Perry, calling him “one of the most prolific creators of our time.”

Perry has enjoyed a career that blossomed from his famous stage plays. His play, “I Can Do Bad All by Myself,” which premiered in 1999, solidified his talents, drawing crowds around the country to see his vibrant casts perform live. At that time, he introduced the world to the beloved Madea character on stage, which would later attract moviegoers for film adaptations such as Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea’s Family Reunion.

Currently, there has yet to be a word on what movies Perry has in the works or when Amazon Prime users can expect them.
