A well-known domestic violence group is calling for the suspension of NFL star Tyreek Hill after his now ex-wife accused him of physical abuse.

The National Organization for Women (NOW), founded in 1966, is demanding the league take immediate action after court filings detailed multiple alleged incidents of abuse during Hill and Keeta Vaccaro’s short-lived marriage. Hill, who married Vaccaro in 2023, has denied all claims through legal representation.

Still, NOW President Kim Villanueva says allowing Hill to play for the Miami Dolphins sends a damaging message. Villanueva accused the league of ignoring its female fanbase and its supposed commitment to ending violence against women.

“The NFL brags about how many women watch football, yet they continue to give violent men the benefit of the doubt,” she said in a statement. “This isn’t just about one player. It’s about a pattern.”

The NFL says it’s investigating the matter, but no disciplinary action has been taken. For critics like Villanueva, that lack of urgency highlights a continued failure by Commissioner Roger Goodell and the league to uphold accountability, especially when high-profile athletes are involved.

In one of the alleged altercations, Vaccaro’s mother, Alesia, called the police, describing Hill as “aggressive and impulsive.”

Their split was settled in August 2025, with Vaccaro receiving a $500,000 lump-sum payment, $20,000 to $50,000 in monthly support, $450,000 to cover legal fees,  and $100,000 for a new car, according to Rolling Out. Additionally, Vaccaro is allowed to remain in their $5.5 million Miami condo, with Hill financially responsible for the property.
