Head Coach Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies made their second straight visit to the White House during President Biden‘s ceremony honoring the team. The Huskies defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 75-60 to win their second consecutive title. As they aim to make history with a third straight championship, they welcome a high-level recruiting class, key returnees, and transfers who give them a strong shot at winning another title.
Head Coach Hurley is known for his fiery coaching style and isn’t afraid to push boundaries. Hurley admitted he was just as nervous this year as he was last year, and he expressed it in a way only Dan Hurley can.
“I thought this would be easier, year two,” Hurley said. “Oh man, I’ve been to the White House before. This is scary as sh*t!”
While it might not have been the most polished moment, it was classic Hurley. He also mentioned wearing his “lucky dragon underwear” to the White House. Hurley, a master recruiter, has brought in another top-ten class this year, led by the second-ranked small forward in the class, Liam McNeely. The Huskies have a big year ahead as they look to make history.
