UFC Star Jon Jones was arrested Thursday in New Mexico and hit with a DWI and a gun charge.
According to TMZ Sports, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in Albuquerque after cops received reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officials found Jones inside a 2019 Jeep, which was parked with the engine running.
Though Jones denied firing shots, officials said he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, which was allegedly confirmed by a failed field sobriety test. According to the publication, the UFC star also blew into a breathalyzer twice, registering over the legal limit both times.
After a search, officials found a black handgun and a bottle of tequila behind the passenger seat.
Jones was arrested and booked for aggravated driving while intoxicated, negligent use of a deadly weapon and possession of an open container, the publication reports. However, he was later released with a bond arraignment court date set for April 9.
