Usain Bolt Will Retire With A Loss

The world’s fastest man had not lost a race in over ten years. Dominating tracks across the world, Usain Bolt was expected to finish with a bang. What should have been expected was the unexpected.

Bolt was so very close to his 12th World Championship and retiring a winner, but what he received was 3rd place honors and “the burn” returned by American track star, Justin Gatlin. Gatlin previously lost against Bolt in Rio at the 2016 Olympics.

Gatlin took home gold finishing in 9.92 seconds (.34 seconds slower than Bolt’s record). Christian Coleman (U.S.) took silver with a time of 9.94 , .01 seconds faster than Bolt’s 9.95 time.

Usain would have retired with 45 straight wins after the Rio Olympics, but sponsors pushed him to have one last hoorah.
