The Michigan man showcased in the viral courthouse video, depicted driving during a Zoom call and facing a suspended license, was ultimately identified as a victim of a clerical error.
Reports say that Corey Harris’ suspension, which should have been lifted two years ago, was erroneously maintained.
His license was suspended in 2010 for unpaid child support, but a judge lifted it in 2022. However, the paperwork wasn’t sent to the Secretary of State, so his license remained suspended, WMAR Baltimore reports.
He said, “Always double-check behind these workers because they will say that they will do something, and they don’t do it.”
Social media was ablaze with support and relief as users learned of his innocence. Now, supporters are urging him to take legal action against the courts.
