Sometimes the best person to keep you out of trouble is your mom. That’s what rapper #JuelzSantana is learning after he found out the only way he would be allowed to go on tour was if his mother accompanied him.

Santana faces several weapons charges. On Friday, a judge modified the rapper’s bail enabling him to go on tour and perform his first five shows of his upcoming nationwide tour. However, the judge said he has to abide by a few conditions: Santana’s mother will have to be with him throughout his tour, he will have to drive to each location instead of flying and he is forbidden from hanging out with other band members while traveling.

Even though Santana’s mother wasn’t in the court on Friday, she consented to the judge’s order. This isn’t the end of Santana’s ruling, next month he will have to return to court for the judge to review his time on tour and decide whether or not he can work his other shows. District Judge Michael Hammer said, “I view it as a reasonable and productive exercise of his time to work and provide for his family.”

As the rapper left the courtroom he said, “I just want to say thank you to the judge.” Santana has pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft. He faces up to 20 years in prison, according to Page Six.
