The fraud case against Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie, is deepening, with new information emerging about the evidence against the couple.
While they smiled for cameras at BravoCon in Las Vegas, investigators back home were quietly building their case. “The Real Housewives of Potomac” couple is accused of staging a burglary at their home, filing insurance claims for luxury items they had already returned for refunds.
According to the US Sun, prosecutors have seized a wide range of records. That includes their Gmail accounts, which reportedly contained messages between Eddie and Wendy discussing their insurance coverage shortly after the alleged break-in. Wendy’s Instagram account was also accessed through a warrant after investigators noticed she had posted a picture wearing her wedding ring, the same one she reported stolen.
On top of that, investigators obtained financial records from Ally Bank, American Express, and Capital One. They’re digging into transactions from Van Cleef, Louis Vuitton, Saks, and Ascot Diamonds to see whether any of the claimed stolen items were in fact refunded or never lost at all.
At BravoCon, Wendy addressed the situation briefly, calling it “an unfortunate situation” and saying, “I will share my story with everyone. And for now, they’re just allegations. So we will continue to push forward.”
Their court date is now scheduled for December 2, and all eyes are on what the evidence will reveal.
