In the wake of her newfound freedom, upon leaving her husband and former manager, Kevin Hunter, Wendy Williams is mending fences and reconciling with her former friends in the industry. In fact, less than a month after Williams reconnected with her mentee Charlamagne Tha God – nearly a decade after their initial falling-out, Williams announced that she recently settled her beef with fellow radio legend, Howard Stern.
Back in March, the two were at odds over Williams’ claim that Stern had gone “soft” in Hollywood. In response, Stern took to his show to unleash a vicious rant against Williams, calling her a “jealous b*tch,” among other things. But now, just two months later, Williams has revealed that Stern has apologized for his outburst, and as a result, there are no longer tensions between the two.
“By the way, Howard, I read the article with you on the cover, and I saw that you mentioned me and that you apologized,” Williams told her audience on Monday of Stern’s Hollywood Reporter cover. “Howard, you know what, if you never apologized to me every in your life, you would still be one of the most influential people in shaping my career – you and Oprah, that’s it.”
As she explained the situation between herself and Stern, she revealed that she was left heartbroken “when he was fighting with me because I wasn’t fighting with him.” As she continued, she commended the radio host for pulling the vicious rant in the wake of his apology.
“The idea that you apologized, – he went on the air and ripped me a new one for no damn reason, because I knew I was right – then in this article, it was a thick article, he goes on to say that he loves me and that I might’ve seen something in him that maybe he didn’t see, or something like that,” she said. “And, [he says] that he’s kind of embarrassed for ripping me on the air, so he’s pulled that from the archives. You’ll never hear that on repeat…I love him!”
