XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Testifies Against Co-Defendants, Says He Tried To Talk Them Out Of Robbing The Rapper [Video]

As the murder trial of rapper XXXTentacion gets underway, one man involved has detailed exactly what led to the murder of the blossoming rapper.

Robert Allen, one of four men charged in the fatal shooting of XXXTentacion on June 18th, 2018, agreed to testify against the three other men involved in the brazen robbery and murder. According to Allen, Michael Boatwright is the man who pulled the trigger, while Trayvon Newsome was seen on surveillance footage grabbing XXX’s Louis Vuitton bag, which contained $50,000 in cash. Dedrick Williams was the getaway driver after the gruesome slaying.

Allen told the courtroom that Williams observed the 20-year-old inside RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida, having withdrawn the cash from a nearby bank shortly before arriving. Allen entered the dealership to further observe XXX but advised his co-defendants not to go through with the robbery plan. He claims he noticed surveillance cameras and knew they’d be captured on video. Ultimately, the men decided to proceed. Leonard Kerr, the rapper’s uncle who accompanied him that day, escaped the robbery by jumping out of the passenger seat of the BMV sports car, which the assailants had blocked in. Allen reportedly never existed in the SUV during the ambush. He pled guilty to second-degree murder last August and agreed to testify against his friends.

Initially, Williams didn’t want to split any of the $50,000 with Allen. However, Boatwright argued that since Allen was present during the killing, he deserved some of the money. He was given $5,000, while the remaining men got $15,000 each.

The prosecution claimed the robbery was a crime of opportunity. Though the men had planned to rob someone that day, they weren’t expecting to run into XXX inside the dealership. They only went to this store to buy masks. However, the defense has pointed at an unfounded rap feud with Drake and Migos as the real reason behind the murder. These claims have never been proven.

Boatwright, Williams, and Newsome each face life in prison. Allen will likely receive a reduced sentence for his cooperation.
