While official cast lists from various outlets include Sharelle Rosado, Maranda Johnson, Ashley Wheeler, Alexis Welch Stoudemire, Porsha Berto, Sadé Vanessa, Lastonia Leviston, and Keeta Hill, Julz was notably absent. Her involvement in the series, which explores the lives of women and girlfriends of athletes and other high-profile men, had not been publicly announced until now. However, Julz hinted that her time on the show was far from positive.
“There are a lot of questions surrounding my involvement in a television show that will be coming out on Netflix on January 22nd. I haven’t spoken on being a part of this show at all up until this point,” Julz said in a Snapchat video. “The biggest elephant in the room and thing that I was seeing across socials was why am I not in the cast photos? So I’m going to answer that and post where I was when the cast was taking the marketing pictures for this show.”
In the video, Julz shared footage of herself attending events during the time the cast photos were taken. She described the taping experience as “terrible” and expressed a desire to distance herself from the label “W.A.G.S.,” an acronym for “wives and girlfriends” of athletes. In another slide, Julz explained that she believed the show would focus more on women’s empowerment, though that is not what she experienced.
Fans will see the full story unfold when “W.A.G.s to Riches” premieres on January 22nd.
