Young Thug is walking back comments he made about GloRilla after a leaked jail phone call went viral for all the wrong reasons. On Thursday, the Atlanta rapper took to Twitter to issue a public apology.
“First of all, I’m sorry to u for my words and I honestly don’t think ur ugly at all,” he wrote. “I was speaking from jail just having a hard time with life. I don’t like bashing girls and hardly ever did. I’m sorry to u twin.”
The apology comes after audio surfaced of Thug speaking to his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, during a jail call. In the clip, he harshly criticized GloRilla’s appearance while responding to comparisons between her and Rihanna.
“That girl ugly as f**k,” he said. “Long wig, skinny, big head, big mouth. I would not pursue her, like at all,” he stated.
GloRilla didn’t stay quiet either. She fired off a subtle clapback on Twitter, writing, “Mind you dis da same dude blowing my phone up to ask what color my eyes is lmaooo.”
As Thug remains behind bars, the apology marks a rare moment of reflection in the midst of a long legal battle tied to the YSL RICO case.
