Young Thug was denied bond again in a Thursday hearing after a judge accused the rapper in a 56-count RICO indictment of being the leader of the Young Slime Life street gang.
The judge said his expected trial date would be January 9, 2023.
During the hearing, Georgia prosecutors allege Thugger is “the top dog, the most dangerous man here, because he doesn’t have to get his hands dirty, he has others to do his business.”
They also claim to have “statements from YSL gang members that he ‘is dangerous, they are afraid of him, that if they cross him he will kill them and their family,'” and that “he is the one they’re all afraid of, he’s the one that’s King Slime, he’s pulling the shots,” 11Alive reports.
The rapper, whose given name is Jeffrey Williams, was one of 26 charged with violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act or RICO, according to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The indictment also included several other Young Stoner Life Records rappers like Gunna, Yak Gotti, YSL Duke, and others.
Young Thug was arrested on May 9 after his home in Atlanta was raided by authorities.
