Yung Miami is returning to the spotlight with raw emotion and honesty in the second season of her Revolt TV show, “Caresha Please.” Premiering Thursday, Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. ET on Revolt’s app and YouTube channel, the rapper is ready to address the swirling rumors and share her truth.
“I want to be able to answer all the questions that people may have. I’m ready to answer everything, tell my story, tell my truth, tell my feelings and tell what I’ve been going through,” Yung Miami tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I’m going to do exactly that on the show.”
The hip-hop star and one-half of the hit duo City Girls has been under intense scrutiny due to her relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Yung Miami dated Diddy, the Revolt founder and former chairman, prior to the release of troubling surveillance footage from 2016 showing him physically assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie. Diddy is currently facing multiple civil lawsuits and a federal criminal investigation, with his home raided back in March.
In the upcoming season premiere of “Caresha Please,” featuring viral rap sensation Saucy Santana as the guest interviewer, Yung Miami breaks down in tears while discussing her recent experiences. In the teaser, she emotionally declares, “I ain’t bring us this far to go backwards,” as she wipes away tears. Santana presses her on why she has stayed silent regarding the allegations and legal troubles surrounding her ex, challenging her responses by saying, “I don’t really feel like you addressed everything.”
The situation is particularly delicate for Yung Miami, as her name has appeared in at least one lawsuit related to Diddy. Despite the controversy, she chose to continue her show with Revolt TV. “I felt like this was something Revolt had to go through as well. I considered [leaving] it, but at the end of the day, it’s a Black-owned media company and I built a relationship with them — it just felt comfortable and I just felt safe.”
Detavio Samuels, CEO of Revolt, expressed excitement about the show’s return. “I’m thrilled to announce the return of the No. 1 show for the culture, Caresha Please, to the No. 1 media platform for the culture, REVOLT. Caresha is a singular and unique voice that has taken the world by storm, and we expect nothing less as she makes her triumphant return.”
Addressing Diddy’s connection to Revolt, a company spokesperson clarified, “He has no involvement and no connection to REVOLT today. He stepped down as chairman in November, and prior to that was not involved in the day-to-day operations at the company. He no longer has any form of ownership in the company. Today, the largest shareholder block of REVOLT are its employees.”
“Caresha Please” originally launched two years ago with a viral episode featuring Yung Miami interviewing Diddy, confirming widespread rumors about their relationship. Now, Yung Miami is focused on moving forward. “I’m just shifting my energy into what’s important to me right now, and that’s my kids and my career,” says the mother of two. With this new season, “I’m switching up segments and have a new design that I’m excited about.” She’s also eager to finally address the elephant in the room.
“I really just want everyone to watch and see every emotion and how I feel about how everything unfolded,” she says. “I kept everything real.”
Season 2 of “Caresha Please” airs August 8 at 8 p.m. ET on Revolt’s app and YouTube channel. The show will premiere on Revolt TV on August 9 at 9 p.m. ET.
