Zion Williamson is facing social media heat once again, but this time, it’s not about injuries or on-court performance. The NBA star is being accused by fans online of flashing gang signs in a casual photo with his friends.
The picture, which surfaced recently on social platforms, shows Williamson posing with a group of men. His hand gesture, innocent or not, caught the attention of internet sleuths who instantly jumped to conclusions. While there’s no official context behind the photo, that didn’t stop fans from suggesting the gesture could be tied to gang culture.

Critics were quick to call out the athlete, questioning his judgment and the company he keeps, especially since Williamson wasn’t the one who shared the image. A rapper acquaintance of his known as Sherineson is the man who posted the photo. He tagged the NBA star, who commented an arm flex emoji.
Others came to Williamson’s defense, arguing that the backlash is another example of people reading too much into a split-second moment. As of now, Williamson hasn’t addressed the chatter. And with no credible sources or evidence linking the gesture to anything nefarious, the situation is likely harmless.
