Prosecutors in Brooklyn Federal Court have alleged that embattled singer R. Kelly abused a teenage boy almost 15 years ago.
Prosecutors included the shocking allegation in their motion on Friday to enter uncharged acts into evidence at trial.
Kelly is currently facing charges in New York and Illinois courts, describing him as a prolific abuser of women and girls.
But the prosecution also introduced a male victim, alleging that Kelly met the then 17-year-old boy–identified as John Doe #1–in December 2006 at a McDonald’s restaurant and invited him to a party at his Chicago home.
The teen went to the party with his mother and stepfather, and that’s when prosecutors say Kelly told him to come alone the next time.
“Thereafter, Kelly invited John Doe #1 into his studio under the guise of helping and mentoring John Doe #1 with his musical aspirations,” prosecutors explained. “Kelly also asked John Doe #1 what he was willing to do to succeed in the music business and clarified that he wanted John Doe #1 to engage in sexual contact with Kelly.”
Court documents revealed that Kelly allegedly had “sexual contact” with the teenage boy and pressured him to have “sexual contact” with other people and then recorded those encounters.
Prosecutors claim they can confirm his relationship with his male victim by citing telephone records.
