Former Proud Boys Leader Enrique Tarrio Arrested Near U.S. Capitol

Proud Boys leader, Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, is ordered to be in court on February 22 for violating the terms of his release.

Two days before the insurrection, Tarrio was arrested to avoid him being in DC as chaos was anticipated following the election recount.

However, arresting Tarrio did not stop anything at all. Many Proud Boys among the Capitol rioters. More than 12 have already been charged, with five facing conspiracy charges.

Out on bail, Washington, D.C. judges are demanding Tarrio appear to explain why he “has not reported by phone as required,” a standard and critical condition of his release. According to a judge, he is considered a loss of contact, and it is very much likely his bail could be revoked.

On Friday, in an interview with the Washington Post, Tarrio denied the court’s claims, saying he has not violated his terms and that he would “call them right now.”

According to reports, Tarrio was initially brought in on a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property connected to the burning of a Black Lives Matter banner back in December.  He was also arrested for local weapon charges.

According to CNN, Tarrio admitted to being the culprit who “went ahead and put the lighter to it and engulfed it in flames”– it being the BLM banner — during a podcast interview.
