If you’re a parent or caregiver who shops at Publix, it’s time to check your pantry.

Publix Super Markets, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of its GreenWise Pear, Kiwi, Spinach & Pea Baby Food, citing the potential presence of elevated levels of lead. The product, manufactured by Bowman Andros LLC, is sold in 4-ounce plastic pouches and was distributed across all Publix locations in its eight-state region.

The recall includes the following product:

  • Product Name: GreenWise Pear, Kiwi, Spinach & Pea Baby Food

  • GTIN: 41415-00901

  • Best if Used By: 11/01/2025

The decision to pull the product from store shelves came after routine sampling flagged the lead concerns. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is fully aware and has been notified.

Publix spokesperson Maria Brous reassured consumers in a statement:

“As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted products have been removed from all store shelves. To date, there have been no reported cases of illness.”

What Should You Do?
If you’ve purchased this baby food, do not serve it to your child. Customers can return it to any Publix location for a full refund—no receipt necessary.

For further information or questions, customers can contact Publix Customer Care at 1-800-242-1227 or visit publix.com.
