Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a very explicit threat to Western nations this morning, saying sternly -they would face “consequences greater than any you have faced in history” if they get involved with his invasion of Ukraine.
Putin made the remarks during his speech early this morning, where he announced the invasion. Immediately after the speech ended the Ukrainian foreign ministry reported multiple attacks.
Putin claimed the attacks were an act of self-defense against the expansion of NATO saying it was a means of protection against “Nazification” and a Ukrainian “genocide.”
Claims that have been roundly rejected by Western leaders who say there is no evidence of a genocide taking place in Ukraine.
