R. Kelly has been hit with a new lawsuit. The suit was filed in New York City and obtained by TMZ. These are allegations only, and none of them have been proven in court.
In the lawsuit, a woman named Faith claims her relationship with Kelly began in 2017, when she was 19. She says she met him at a concert in San Antonio, and that a few months later he flew her to New York for another show.
According to the suit, things took a turn after that show, when Faith claims Kelly came to her hotel room and engaged in unwanted sexual contact. She also claims that over the year the two dated, he was physically, mentally and verbally abusive. She says he held her against her will by locking her in rooms while a female assistant stood guard.
Faith further claims Kelly failed to tell her he had a sexually transmitted infection. Based on these claims, she is suing for sexual battery, false imprisonment and failure to disclose an STD.
Kelly has repeatedly denied past allegations of sexual misconduct. We did not find a response from him to this specific lawsuit at the time of this report.
