As the investigation into R Kelly’s longstanding history with young women and underaged girls continues, new details about Kelly’s relationship with live-in girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage, have been revealed.
Savage met Kelly for the first time in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2015. After the meeting, the then-20-year-old reportedly told friends that Kelly sexually assaulted her, and now, those same friends are sharing the details with the feds.
According to The Blast, Savage had been offered the opportunity to perform for the R&B superstar in a private meeting in Oklahoma. So, Kelly’s ex-employee, Cheryl Mack, arranged the flight. However, upon her arrival and subsequent performance, Savage reportedly told her vocal coach and her coach’s son that Kelly had been inappropriate with her.
Sources say Savage was told to take off her clothes and walk around the room for Kelly’s viewing pleasure. After that, he reportedly forced her onto the bed and forced himself on her.
Although Savage reportedly confided in the two individuals, she refused to report the incident to authorities. Instead, the vocal coach took it upon herself to inform Joycelyn’s family of the incident.
As a result, the family tried to sit down with Savage to convince her to leave Kelly alone, but she eventually left to be with him full time. But now, just three years later – amid refueled outrage over Kelly’s alleged abusive history, Savage’s two friends have taken the information to federal officials with evidence.
According to the Blast, the vocal coach and her son shared an audio recording of a phone conversation, in which Joycelyn is describing Kelly’s control over her life. In another audio recording, the coach is on three-way with Joycelyn and Kelly, in which the singer talks Joycelyn’s voice and career. In addition to the recordings, Savage’s family shared plane tickets and more, linking Mack to Kelly’s history of abusive behaviors.
In the meantime, the new information directly contradicts Kelly’s interview with Gayle King, in which he claimed he did not take advantage of Joycelyn’s dream to become a singer.
