R. Kelly Claims He’s Written 25 Albums in Prison, Says He’s Focused on Getting Out

R. Kelly’s request for an early prison for release stating COVID-19 concerns has been denied for the third time, according to Complex. In the most recent motion, Kelly’s lawyer stated that he was prediabetic. Having diabetes would make a person part of the population of people who raise the risk of suffering from COVID-19 complications.

U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly denied the request stating that Robert’s “condition” ain’t gonna cut it! “I do not agree that a diagnosis of prediabetes presents a compelling reason for the defendant’s release. While the CDC has identified diabetes as a risk factor for COVID-19, the same is not true for prediabetes, a condition that affects nearly one in three American adults.” The documents filed by Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, stated that the singer tested “1/10 of one point below diabetic.”

Judge Donnelly concluded her statement with, “My review of the defendant’s medical records reflect that he is receiving more than adequate care to manage this condition. The health care professionals at the MCC see him regularly and are working with him to implement lifestyle changes so that his condition improves. Those recommendations include diet, weight loss, and exercise.’ Donnelly is the same judge who also denied Kelly’s previous two motions on April 7 and April 21.
