In a new interview with Keyshia Ka’oir, rapper Trina shared details about her marriage to Benjamin Leon Kearse Jr.
One subject that arose was her perspective on marriage and monetary arrangements. She revealed that she did not require her husband to sign a prenuptial agreement. The “Da Baddest B***h” star emphasized her trust in her partner, stating that he willingly gives her all his money and she oversees the couple’s finances.
“My husband brings all of his money to me, so I’m in charge. He can’t spend a dime without my consent. He can’t spend a dime for nothing unless it goes through me,” she shared.
This decision highlights a shift in traditional views on prenups, though her fans expressed concern online about this decision. This may stem from the stories of women entertainers such as Wendy Williams and Mary J. Blige, who’ve had to fork over big bucks following messy divorces. However, Trina does not appear to be concerned with her relationship ending.
Trina recently shared her memoir, “Da Baddest,” highlighting her many ups and downs, including the loss of her mother and brother. In recent weeks, she has been doing several interviews, where she credited Kearse with helping her get through her many dark days. Elsewhere in her chat with Ka’oir, Trina revealed she and her husband have discussed having children in the future.
