Ray J Apologizes To Brandy After Viral Threats to Mase, Cam’ron and Shyne Go Too Far [Video]

Ray J is walking back his earlier outburst after threatening Cam’ron, Mase, and Shyne over comments about his sister, Brandy.

The controversy started after an episode of “It Is What It Is,” where Cam’ron asked Mase and Shyne to reflect on their past relationships with Brandy. The conversation stayed light, with both men joking about dating her in the late 1990s. However, once the clip circulated online, Ray J responded with a heated video, warning them not to speak about his sister again.

His reaction quickly went viral, especially after Cam’ron posted a throwback clip appearing to show Ray J in a physical altercation, while Shyne responded with a measured Instagram post clarifying his past comments. The back and forth kept building, but Ray J is now choosing to take accountability.

During a Monday video shared to Instagram, he issued a direct apology.

“This apology is to Brandy and Brandy only and to Brandy’s brand,” he said. He added, “Some of the things I said was absolutely concerning, disrespectful, and heartless.”

Ray J explained that his defense of his sister crossed a line.

“I never want to attach Brandy into that much disrespect that I’ve portrayed to the world,” he said, noting that his rant should have stayed personal. He also called for everyone involved to move on, saying, “I think for everybody else involved, we all need to just chill. It needs to stop now.”

He also doubled down in the caption of the video, writing, “My bad B…I was outta pocket. No spin, no extras. You’re my blood, and I moved in a way that didn’t reflect your brand in a positive way!”
