Ray J says doctors are loading him up with nearly every medication possible as they try to keep him alive, even while admitting they cannot say how much time he has left.
The singer and reality star tells TMZ that physicians recently delivered a grim outlook. According to Ray J, doctors told him to stay in bed, follow strict medical orders, and take multiple prescriptions as part of an aggressive effort to stabilize his condition.
Ray J previously told followers that doctors warned he may not live to see 2027. He shared that half of his heart has turned black and is functioning at only 60 percent, something he was told is a serious indicator of heart failure.
As part of his treatment plan, Ray J says doctors prescribed eight different medications. Those include Lipitor, Jardiance, and Entresto, which are commonly used for patients facing advanced heart issues. He also says doctors warned him that a pacemaker or defibrillator could be in his future, though no final decision will be made until he returns for a follow-up appointment in about 14 days.
Doctors have also ordered major lifestyle changes. Ray J says he was told to stop drinking and smoking, admitting that the adjustment has been hard. He added that being unable to see his children during this period “took me down” and “made me realize I need to change my ways of living.” He is currently under a criminal protective order that prevents contact with his kids.
Ray J also addressed his plan to travel to Haiti in search of treatment. While acknowledging the country is in crisis, he says his research has led him to believe cures for heart disease may exist there, and he is willing to take the risk.
Looking ahead, Ray J said, “If I come out of this, I’ll be stronger and a better person.”
