Ray J was rushed to the hospital Thursday after suffering a medical emergency in the middle of a livestream, TMZ reports.
Video:
The singer was streaming from the Fab Factory when he started having health problems, and someone called the fire department and an ambulance. His mother, Sonja Norwood, was on the stream with him. Video from the stream shows paramedics tending to Ray J as he lay shirtless with medical equipment attached to his chest.
Sources told TMZ he was taken away by ambulance with heart related issues. They said the call was strictly medical and that there was nothing unusual or suspicious about it.
The emergency came during “Rayhab,” Ray J’s 180 day streaming subathon, and he has reportedly been staying awake for long stretches to keep the stream going.
It is the latest in a string of health scares for the 45 year old this year. In January, he was hospitalized in Las Vegas with pneumonia and heart pain, where doctors ran X-rays and an echocardiogram. Afterward, he told fans in an Instagram video that his heart was “only beating like 25%,” but said everything would be all right as long as he stayed focused and on the right path. He has said his heart problems are tied to years of drug and alcohol use.
In February, he asked fans to return a heart monitor he said was taken during a show in Shreveport, Louisiana, after he had been wearing it for two weeks. Then in May, Ray J checked himself into a Las Vegas hospital after he was knocked out during a celebrity MMA fight with Supa Hot Fire, and doctors monitored him for a slowed heartbeat and a possible concussion.
Ray J’s manager, Melinda Santiago, has said the singer has been in and out of the hospital dealing with health and heart issues.
There is no update yet on his condition, and his family and team have not made a public statement.
