It looks like Bravo is wasting no time getting the next season of “Real Housewives of Potomac” on TV screens, though not everyone is happy about it.
The third and final installment of the season eight reunion aired on April 14th, and reports have surfaced that season nine will begin filming in the coming days. This is a shocker to some, considering an explosive season where multiple cast members, including stars Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, were accused of being colorists and mean girls. Mia Thorton was also criticized for her storyline, which included having an affair and the possibility of her son not being her husband’s child. After the messiness concluded, Dixon, along with Nneka Ihim, were both terminated. Candiace Dillard Bassett left voluntarily after learning that she was pregnant.
Fans have pointed out that “Real Housewives of Atlanta” underwent similar cast changes, yet there is no date for when filming will begin. Porsha Williams Guobadia is set to return, with a storyline likely centered around her divorce, while Kandi Burruss, Sanya Ricbards-Ross, and Marlo Hampton will be exiting. Currently, there are rumors that the network is not confident in the “RHOA” cast and may make further cuts or additions. Nevertheless, some find it odd that the show has no new updates, considering that season 15’s reunion special wrapped on September 10th, 2023. This would seem to indicate that Bravo has prioritized the Potomac crew, even after the immense backlash it received.
