In 1991, #TheJerrySpringerShow premiered, creating a new platform for TV talk shows. Unlike others, you never knew exactly what you’d be watching when you flipped to an episode. The show’s guest stories were some of the most bizarre TV has ever seen. Segments could end in a number of ways: girl fights, infidelity, bubble bath rumbles and even marriage proposals.

From Jerry’s pole slide-in intro to audience responses; the show has greatly, and maybe regrettably, become a part of U.S. pop culture.

NBC Universal plans on airing re-runs as the show moves to The CW this fall. The show is still under a multi-year deal and if the CW requests new episodes the show will continue on. But for now, production has stopped. Maury and The Steve Wilkos Show have both been picked up for new seasons.

In the past 27 years, “The Jerry Springer Show” has aired over 3,800 episodes in its 28-season run, according to Deadline.
