Peter Thomas Sentenced to 18 Months for $2.5 Million Tax Fraud

Peter Thomas, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey, is facing an eviction lawsuit for his Miami restaurant, Bar One.

The lawsuit alleges that the restaurant is in violation of its lease agreement.

According to the complaint filed by Bentley Bay Retail, the company claims to be the landlord of the property where Bar One is situated. The filing states that in 2018, the company entered into a commercial lease agreement with Thomas.

RadarOnline reported that the company previously sued Thomas for eviction over unpaid payments. However, in 2020, an agreement was made where he agreed to settle any outstanding debts.

Bar One agreed to pay $270k to satisfy all issues, according to a copy of the settlement.

As part of the settlement, Bentley Bay Retail stated that Thomas’ company agreed to the condition that if any checks were returned due to insufficient funds, the agreement would be void, and Bar One would be obligated to leave the property.

The company claims that Thomas submitted multiple payments that were returned for insufficient funds on various occasions between July 2022 and March 2023.

According to Bentley Bay Retail, Thomas owes them $422k in rent, unpaid expenses, utility bills, and sales taxes.

The suit states that Thomas was notified of his default status, leading to the filing of the lawsuit in October 2022. However, the case experienced delays as negotiations between Thomas and the company began.
Despite attempts at negotiation, the company stated that the discussions were unsuccessful, and they are now seeking the immediate removal of Bar One from the premises.
