The Real Housewives of New York City is finally getting their first Black cast member, attorney and television host, Eboni K. Williams.

“NYC is filled with successful and dynamic Black women. I’m excited to join this legendary franchise as the first Black housewife,” Williams said in a statement. “Can’t wait to share a slice of life in this city that hasn’t been seen before. Anyone who’s aware of my work knows I don’t hold back. I’m going to keep it just as real here as I do everywhere else,” she adds.

On Thursday,  TMZ was the first to report the news of Williams joining the cast, alongside returning Housewives Luann De Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Leah McSweeney, and Sonja Morgan.

37-year-old Williams is currently a host and executive producer for Revolt Black News. She also has hosting credits on networks like Fox Sports, Fox News Channel, and NBA 2K, to name a few.

Before joining the television world, Williams earned a law degree at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, after receiving a Juris Doctor degree, specializing in family law and civil litigation. In 2017, she released a book titled Pretty Powerful: Appearance, Substance & Success.

The apple was given to Williams after actress Garcelle Beauvais was cast on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for season 10, in which she became the first Black Housewife on the show.
The news of her casting came after the show lost Tinsley Mortimer and Dorinda Medley. Mortimer had left the show mid-season after she moved to Chicago to be with her finance Scott Kluth. Medley had announced her plans to leave RHONY back in August.
