Rick Ross is taking his talents to the literary world with the release of his brand new book, ”Hurricanes.” Though he has no problem telling his story through his lyrics, the rapper has decided to take a different approach.
“Hurricanes” will be brought to you by Hanover Square Press. According to Entertainment Weekly, the same man behind “The Autobiography of Gucci Mane,” Neil Martinez-Belkin, is teaming up with the Grammy-nominated artist for his brand new venture.
Readers will get an inside look at Ross’ life before the fame, growing up in Carol City, Miami, and the grind he put into becoming the music industry’s Biggest Boss. In addition to that, readers will get insight into Ross’ past life as both a drug dealer and a corrections officer.
In an interview with EW, Ross explained how his life story is “deeper than rap.”
“With this book, I wanted to go deeper than I ever have. I wanted to tell people about the life of William Leonard Roberts,” he said.
“Hurricanes’” synopsis reads, “Ross moves beyond the headlines, opening up about the experiences that inform his creative process. His upbringing in Carol City. His past as both a drug dealer and correctional officer. His scuffles in the streets and the industry. The seizures. The drive-by shootings. The 2015 arrest on kidnapping and assault charges. It is a remarkable story of not only surviving the storms of life but reaching the highest levels of achievement in spite of them.”
The puzzling life story is due to hit bookshelves September 3rd.
