Hip-hop mogul Rick Ross has set his sights on a new kind of flex — becoming a partial owner of the Miami Dolphins. In a candid conversation with Gray Rizzy on the SiriusXM Front Row Series on SiriusXM Hip-Hop Nation, the Miami native revealed that an NFL ownership stake is firmly on his radar.

The Rozay, we’re thinking one of the next moves should be me buying a piece of the Miami Dolphins,” Ross told Gray Rizzy. “Let’s go Phins.”
It’s a bold vision, but the rapper — born William Leonard Roberts II — is no stranger to thinking big. Known as much for his business empire as his platinum discography, Ross has built a portfolio that spans restaurants, record labels, and real estate. Adding a professional football franchise to that list would be his most ambitious move yet.
Ross acknowledged he’s not quite there financially — at least not yet.
“Am I in the position to do that yet? I’m not sure,” he admitted. But he’s already laying the groundwork. The Boss recently collaborated with the Dolphins on a merchandise launch, a move he framed as a calculated first step.
“You got to start small. You got to plant those seeds and just water them,” he explained. “A lot of times we don’t even understand our value. It was a long time before I understood what my full potential was and once again, until you start challenging yourself, you can’t stay in your comfort zone. You know what you’re good at. You know what you got to be great at and you got to just push yourself. And I enjoy doing it.”
For a man who built his brand on the art of the boss mentality, a seat in the owner’s box might just be the next logical chapter.
