Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and Their Children Were Inside When Woman Allegedly Fired AR-Style Rifle at Their Home [Video]

Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their children, and Rihanna’s mother were all inside the family’s Los Angeles home when a woman allegedly opened fire outside the property with an AR-style rifle.

Authorities say the suspect, Ivana Lisette Ortiz, is now facing 14 criminal charges in connection with the shooting, which took place outside the couple’s Beverly Crest residence earlier this month. Prosecutors have charged Ortiz with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

According to investigators, Ortiz allegedly fired multiple rounds toward the property while parked outside the home. Several bullets struck the home’s front gate and nearby areas, though no one inside the residence was physically injured during the incident. In addition to Rihanna and her family, the household staff was also inside the residence.

Investigators allege Ortiz traveled from Florida to Los Angeles before the shooting occurred. Police were able to track the suspect’s vehicle shortly after the gunfire and arrested her less than an hour later at a nearby shopping center parking garage. Officers also recovered the rifle believed to have been used in the incident.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman addressed the case while announcing the charges.

“The message is very simple and very clear,” Hochman said. “Come into this county from Florida, come into this county from anywhere in this county, and we will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we will punish you if you want to engage in shooting at inhabited dwellings.”

Ortiz remains in custody with bail set at approximately $1.875 million. She has also been ordered to stay away from Rihanna and A$AP Rocky as the case moves forward.
