It looks like the luxury Fenty Fashion House will be coming to a close, according to Rihanna and LVMH.
LVMH and Rihanna have reached an arrangement under which the Fenty Maison will be closed, according to news from both Women’s Wear Daily and Business of Fashion on Wednesday. An LVMH representative said in a statement to WWD that the luxury conglomerate and the proven multi-hyphenate “have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions.”
It was reported that this development is a definite stop for the luxury Fenty building. However, it is also reported that both LVMH and Rihanna “have not ruled out taking a second run” at a luxury Maison in the future.
Fenty was revealed in 2019 and Rihanna called creating the inaugural line “an incredibly special moment” for the team at the time.
In May 2019 she said “Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits,” adding that, “I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”
LVMH will further concentrate on the elements of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, as well as get involved with Savage X Fenty. L Catterton is now the leading investor in the latter as part of a drive for retail expansion,
